The clever and kid-friendly Where’s My Water is the Starbucks Pick of the Week until Tuesday, when the options refresh again. Next time you are craving a caffeinated beverage be sure to look for the free app card, as it is a very well-done game that has an Angry Birds kind of addiction.
Your mission is to send bath water down to a very shower-obsessed alligator. Like other physics-based games, you must use your finger to draw a path for the water’s flow. Try to soak the rubber ducks on the way for bonus points. There are also some nice bonus rounds, like one where the ducks are suddenly evil and you must destroy them with toxic bath sludge. However, don’t let that make its way to the alligator or he will be very unhappy.
Where’s My Water follows the physics-based formula well and has plenty of upgrade options for those who want to take the challenges further. In some ways offering this free is a good teaser for Disney, which can promote other versions from the main menu.
To get the free game grab the card from the Pick of the Week display in any Starbucks coffeehouse. Then enter the 748-character download code into the App Store on your device or iTunes on a computer.
Between the Starbucks Pick of the Week and the App Store’s Free App of the Week iOS users now have a decent amount of options to discover paid apps for free, much like their Android counterparts (the Amazon Appstore offers a paid app for free each day).
If you miss the free promotion (the new Starbucks picks turns over every Tuesday) then you can always try out the lite version of Where’s My Water for free.
