Twitter Adds New Profiles to Android, iOS

Twitter is quickly bringing its new profile pages to mobile, as it updated apps for iOS and Android today. The most transformative changes to the User Interface come on the iPad, which has eliminated the multi-layered pages. Those who had advertised with Twitter received an email message today about the new profile page, which devotes a larger space to the details of one’s account.

On the web version of Twitter you can create a background image to your profile and add other tweaks to the background colors. They look good on the web, creating a nice showcase for your brand.

The iPad app makes it easier to read articles, as tapping a tweet expands it on to the screen and shows a preview of articles from larger sites. Gone are those layers that you had to swipe to get rid of; no more swiping all the way to the right to watch some of the content fall off into the abyss.
