The 7th Guest: Infection is a spin off of the recently resurrected The 7th Guest first-person puzzle game. While the concept is very different, it is similar in spirit and temperament to its predecessor.
You are playing a one-on-one board game against Henry Stauf, the protagonist of The 7th Guest. And just like in the original, he taunts you during the entire encounter.
The game is like checkers; except the checkers have a deadly infection that take over your pieces. Before you know it, even though you think that you are winning the entire board is filled with enemy pieces. You lose.
In the settings there is a scale to adjust the difficulty, ranging from “simple” to “genius.” Don’t get too cocky, because Infection is not for intellectual slouches.
For those who want a more thorough explanation of how to play there is a rules section, although get ready to read as it is presented as a long string of text. A few diagrams or screen shots may be helpful for some users. There is a demo mode, but it is not an interactive tutorial – you watch a sample game unfold.
If you love puzzle games, The 7th Guest: Infection is a great one to add to your iPad. It will keep you challenged with a vast array of difficulty.
