Boom is a volume enhancer, which boosts the sound volume on a Mac by up to 400 percent. The app places a volume slider on the menu bar as well as more detailed controls for manipulating sounds.

The equalizer is used for tweaking the sound to better match specific content, such as movies, music that should emphasize bass or vocals.
