GetGlue is making entertainment stickier than ever for television, music, and movie fans all over.
The entertainment check-in service has updated the GetGlue app for iPhones and GetGlue.com. The latest features for the iPhone app includes a new visual stream for check-ins, the ability for users to participate in numerous conversations, and more tailored guides for all entertainment needs beyond TV, movies, and music.
GetGlue, an app that lets users “check in” to their favorite entertainment, is ramping up its sports content and getting more social by connecting to Foursquare.
Sports was one of the most requested categories to add, according to GetGlue CEO Alex Iskold. It replaces “drinking wine” as a featured category on the home page, which always felt a little out of place (though as a wine fan, I applaud them for the effort).
The changes allow users to further involve friends into the GetGlue network. Users could always post their GetGlue check-ins to Facebook and Twitter, but adding Foursquare adds a higher level of connectivity. For example, instead of just announcing you are watching the San Francisco Giants play, your check-in could read, “I am watching the San Francisco Giants @ AT&T Park” with appropriate links.
