Snapheal is an easy to use photo editing software for Mac. Snapheal utilizes six different categories to make the editing process as simple and straightforward as possible: Erase, Clone & Stamp, Retouch, Adjust, Crop, and Rotate/Flip.
While these categories seem basic, they make the editing process very easy. Erase allows fragments of images to be deleted from the image. This process takes a little effort to perfect, but is overall an amazing tool. Clone & Stamp allows users to repeat images, a simple “copy and paste” type tool with countless uses.
The retouch feature makes it easy for users to give those they photograph flawless skin. This is a simple perfecting tool with multiple potential uses.
Adjust, Crop, Rotate/Flip are basic tools that do exactly what they sound like they do. These features should not be forgotten, not only because they are necessarily tools, but also because they make using some of the other tools easier to use.
While very possibly an underutilized tool, I really enjoyed how easy it was to reshape images to a specific size. Change colors, saturation, and any edits that seem “basic” but typically end up taking more effort on other photo editing software systems were smooth and simple on Snapheal.
Snapheal also offers the ability to completely erase people, rocks, unwanted portions of images without creating an awkward and fake looking picture.
Snapheal is a perfect application for a new or veteran photo editor. It has crowded competition, with Snapseed growing in popularity, the free Picasa, and of course the desktop benchmarks Aperture and PhotoShop.
The simple process and extensive features make Snapheal an excellent, lower-cost option for photo editing that may appeal to many at the consumer level.
