On Wednesday we will be live blogging the Windows Phone Developer Summit, where Microsoft will be showing off the latest version of its Windows Phone operating system. Widely called Windows Phone 8 or Apollo, it is expected to ramp up the competition with Apple and Google in the battle over the mobile space.
This is a substantial week for Microsoft. On Monday the company unveiled its Surface series of tablets. The two models will run Windows 8 or Windows RT, which draw heavy influence from the Metro UI found in Windows Phone.
