Lame Castle Much Better than its Name

Lame Castle was one of the recently promoted free apps on the Amazon app store.

In Lame Castle you’re a knight braving the dangers of the world to destroy the lame castles your enemy has constructed to hold your princess. Your wooden horse carries you, well, nowhere. But you run your way over spear pits, rocks, and through barns and hay bales. Controlling your attack is easy: pushing the left side of the screen to jump and the right side of the screen to attack is all you need to know. You automatically pick up speed as you race through the countryside, as long as you don’t trip on a rock.

Throughout the level you’ll find charge boosts and health hearts you can pick up to help you survive. You’ll also find different challenges in the levels. So far we’ve discovered the bonus objectives of punting chicken for extra points, blasting through rocks for extra points, and a bonus for achieving so many points.

Although a simple and fun game with attractive hand drawn graphics, the endless mode failed to hold the attention of my teenage brother. The challenges, unlocking levels, and beating my score is more entertaining though and he had quickly surpassed the highest level I’d reached.

If you’re still unsure whether this is the game for you, the creators of Lame Castle, Be Rad Entertainment, have a web version of Lame Castle at that is an exact replica for you to test out and enjoy.
