Google Search for iPhone Updates with Snazzier Interface

Google Search for iPhone was updated to 2.0 today, bringing over many features that were previously only on the iPad version. It brings a more elegant search experience and quick access to Google apps.

There are two different panes that feature google app icons, with one list linking to web apps and the other connecting to any Google iPhone apps you may have downloaded.

It is a welcome change for Google users that may find themselves increasingly disconnected with Google’s focus on Android. There app icons for Tasks, Offers and Photos, which currently do not have a decimated iOS app.

When conducting a search the app then functions much like the chrome browser, creating a tab For each new search. Just swipe back to return to the search page. Or if you want to look through images, news, or other Google search categories just swipe along the bottom bar.

Search results are also much faster on both the iPad and iPhone versions. Google Goggles has always been especially handy, and it performs very quickly with the latest update.

Google Search for iPhone makes a strong improvement with the release of version 2.0. It follows last week’s revamp of Google+ for iOS.

Many Gmail users are likely hoping that the lackluster Gmail for iOS is the next on the update list.
