GetGlue Adds Streams, Personalized Guides

GetGlue is making entertainment stickier than ever for television, music, and movie fans all over.

The entertainment check-in service has updated the GetGlue app for iPhones and GetGlue.com. The latest features for the iPhone app includes a new visual stream for check-ins, the ability for users to participate in numerous conversations, and more tailored guides for all entertainment needs beyond TV, movies, and music.

Check in to trending shows.

The new stream feature allows users to tune into a friend’s entertainment, preview shows, movies, artists and save things they like quickly from the stream with a more visual look and feel. You can tap any entry to get more information.

The conversation screen shows friends and comments from other fans that are checked-in to the same show or music. The swipe button can be used to easily and swiftly change between numerous conversations. This real-time conversation feature is great for staying in the loop of the entertainment world.

The Guides help users quickly find things to read, watch, and listen to. The guides are constantly updated with new recommendations based on personal taste, friend’s activity, and trends within the GetGlue community.

GetGlue.com has also received an upgrade. The site has been restored to match the look, feel, and features of the app. Each dominate screen and flow has been redesigned with a slick and streamlined appearance.

There is a new and easy way to check-in online with the Check-in button in the top navigation menu. Once you have checked in, you can close the overlay and return to what you were doing.

Just like the iPhone app, there is a Guides navigation and a new conversations tab. The conversations tab tracks the last few conversation. The tab automatically appears after a check-in and the old conversation tab disappears. It allows a quick switch to a conversation at any time to get the most recent information and add your comments.

GetGlue, which launched in 2009, now has over 2,000,000 users that checked in more than 100,000,000 times in 2011.
